Batters Up: Chili and Ugly Sweaters
It’s getting nippy out there, and nothing fulfills winter cravings like a warm pot o’ meat & beans ... and ugly sweaters. Batters Up
(1700 S. Main), the sports bar best known for its good food, pool and
great games, steps up its gaming to the next level with the most noble
of gentlemanly arts: the chili cook-off. The “Really Chili Cook-Off” is
Dec. 11.
For more good times at this venue, try the nine-ball tourney on Tuesdays; eight-ball on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Sundays; and karaoke on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Also, this bar is reigniting its love for poker with new Texas Hold ’Em nights on Tuesdays and Sundays. Last, but not least, make sure you visit Dec. 17 for the Ugly Sweater Christmas Party.
Inferno: Mid-Week Sexy Hot
Inferno (122 W. Pierpont Ave.) hosts Want Me Wednesdays, billed as the “hottest mid-week party IN THE STATE!!!” And with all the capitals and exclamation points, it has to be true. The Raddy Entertainment dancers Desera Martinez and Robin LC will be there to please as the bumping tunes from DJ Diamondz and DJ Jello get things going. Text 801-471-7468 to reserve a VIP hookah table.
Poplar Pub: Loom’s Cundick Wows Wednesdays
Loom is a local heavy-metal group that might take umbrage at that description—but that’s what your mom would call it. Their lead guitarist, Mike Cundick, is an amazingly talented maestro with more than just an electrified axe to grind. Catch his acoustic guitar residency Wednesday nights at Poplar Street Pub (242 S. 200 West) starting at 9 p.m.
