Best of Utah 2007

Around 500 items jammed into slightly over 200 pages—yes, it’s City Weekly’s largest Best of Utah issue ever. Grand Poobah/Executive Editor John Saltas (a content guy) is happy; Publisher Jim Rizzi (a numbers guy) is sweating bullets and Patrón; the rest of us could use a week off … which is not going to happen, of course.

We’ll settle for a piece of pie, like the one cover models Kerri Cronk (of Fox 13, and your choice for best TV news hair) and Chris Vanocur (of ABC 4, your vote for best TV news reporter) are enjoying at Diamond Lil’s. As you’ll read later, Donie bakes some amazing pies and Diamond Lil’s is a local gem that beats the hell out of any of the generic chain restaurants that are quickly eating up the West. This is the kind of stuff we’re proud to bring to your attention.

As always, City Weekly’s Best of Utah goes like this: You voted for 100 of your favorite local people, places and things; we came up with 400 more for your consideration. You may not agree with all of ’em, but you’re not going to be bored. Better start reading now, there’s a lot to get to …
