Between now and Sept. 21, Salt Lake County residents can get in on a group purchase of solar PV panels for a community-powered solar-panel discount of as much as 30-40 percent off typical purchase and installation costs.---

As part of the Salt Lake Community Solar initiative, a program of nonprofit Utah Clean Energy, county residents looking to harness the sun can get a sizzling deal on solar PV panels and at the same time soak up the solar know-how of the organization's contracting partner, Gardner Engineering. Gardner will assist all members with solar projects, be they a panel on their home or business, and will also provide educational tips on energy conservation.

The more community residents who tap in to the program, the greater the discount on the upfront costs -- a major offset to investing in the power of the sun -- that will lead to great long-term energy savings. Those who sign up will also be entered into a raffle to win sweet solar-riffic prizes from solar business Goal Zero.

Don’t let the sun just beat you down without beating down your energy bill—find out if you’re eligible for the program today by visiting MyCommunitySolar.org to take a free eligibility survey.
