We need your help.

Newspapers and media companies nationwide are closing or suffering mass layoffs since the coronavirus impacted all of us starting in March. City Weekly's entire existence is directly tied to people getting together in groups--in clubs, restaurants, and at concerts and events--which are the industries most affected by new coronavirus regulations.

Our industry is not healthy. Yet, City Weekly has continued publishing thanks to the generosity of readers like you. Utah needs independent journalism more than ever, and we're asking for your continued support of our editorial voice. We are fighting for you and all the people and businesses hardest hit by this pandemic.

You can help by making a one-time or recurring donation on PressBackers.com, which directs you to our Galena Fund 501(c)(3) non-profit, a resource dedicated to help fund local journalism. It is never too late. It is never too little. Thank you. DONATE

Bogey’s In Clearfield: Not Bogus
Bogey’s in Clearfield (22 E. 200 South) is a great place to hang every day of the week, but if you’re in the “industry” of clubs or bars, then Tuesday night is the time to come in for great deals on drinks. Karaoke with “the crazy Brit” is on the menu, along with super cheap pitchers, proving this place to be the real deal for a working stiff.

College Night Jams: Maramalade District Hotness
Club Jam (751 N. 300 West) has turned the city on to what real gay clubs are about with a snazzy interior, liquor (if you hadn’t heard) and great theme nights like Gay College Night on Tuesdays featuring beer pong, a free weenie barbecue and no cover! Stop into the Marmalade district’s hottest bar and see for yourself.

Bar-X: X-ed Out
After 77 years and tens of thousands of beers, the Bar-X Inn in Salt Lake City closed its doors for good Friday, July 9. The venue famous for serving beer, good times and putting the first bar on 200 South was packed for its farewell. Join the hundreds of fans on the Facebook page started to commemorate the bar; search for “Fans of the Bar X.”
