Bullet Points

First, you cannot sell guns on eBay [“Gun Shy,” Hits & Misses, March 31, City Weekly], seeing as it is a violation of the 1968 Gun Control Act. It’s also a corporate decision by eBay.

Second, while I respect the right of the paper to not have gun ads, I believe that the citizens of your state have a right not to read your paper any longer. At least, that’s how I handle my local paper, the Atlanta Journal (anti) Constitution, anyhow. They have shown a propensity to be anti-gun, and now they’re losing money for it. Readership is down, as well as trust in the local paper.

Editor’s note: It was a website, KSL.com—not a newspaper—that was reviewing its policy as to whether or not to allow classified ads for firearms. City Weekly currently has no policy that prohibits ads for firearms from appearing in the Classifieds section.
