This week, join KRCL Radio and the University of Utah’s Women’s Resource Center at a fair exhibiting the arts and crafts of local women—be they indigenous, international or from area refugee communities. The event is an opportunity to connect with the diversity all around us, and will also feature booths from local nonprofits that will provide information on how you can get involved in local advocacy efforts.

Pipeline 101 Workshops

In 2010, a Chevron pipeline broke twice over a period of six months, leaking as much as 800 barrels of oil into Red Butte Creek from the combined spills. Now, Salt Lake City wants to get citizens engaged in the basics of pipeline safety and involved in checking up on the pipelines. Workshops will also explain the regulations governing the pipes underneath residents’ feet.

Halti Ability Snow Challenge

Park City nonprofit the National Ability Center is hosting its annual snow-challenge fundraiser. The group works to provide affordable outdoor recreational activities for people of different abilities. This year, teams or solo registrants can pay between $250 and $1,000 to enter the thrilling ski and snow challenges and be teamed up with Ability Center athletes, as well as local skiing legends.
