Correction: Heimlich Maneuver

Correction: In the June 23 news feature “Harmful Maneuver,” a paraphrased quote in the seventh paragraph should have been written as follows:

Peter, who is actually working on a book about his father’s legacy, says that because of the success of the Heimlich maneuver for choking, his father gained media access to circulate “a string of crackpot medical claims, one of which was as the use of the maneuver to revive drowning victims.”

Also, Peter’s father, Dr. Henry Heimlich, lives in Cincinnati, Ohio, and the year in which a drowning victim suffered complications from vomiting after the Heimlich maneuver was used was 1982 (an incorrect city and year were published in the story).
