We need your help.

Newspapers and media companies nationwide are closing or suffering mass layoffs since the coronavirus impacted all of us starting in March. City Weekly's entire existence is directly tied to people getting together in groups--in clubs, restaurants, and at concerts and events--which are the industries most affected by new coronavirus regulations.

Our industry is not healthy. Yet, City Weekly has continued publishing thanks to the generosity of readers like you. Utah needs independent journalism more than ever, and we're asking for your continued support of our editorial voice. We are fighting for you and all the people and businesses hardest hit by this pandemic.

You can help by making a one-time or recurring donation on, which directs you to our Galena Fund 501(c)(3) non-profit, a resource dedicated to help fund local journalism. It is never too late. It is never too little. Thank you. DONATE

Craig Gass

It’s difficult to put the words “cool” and “celebrity impersonator” in the same sentence, but comedian Craig Gass manages to deserve the combo. Gass impersonates such icons as

Al Pacino, Sam Kinison, Gene Simmons and Christopher Walken with such perfection that’s it’s almost impossible to believe, and does it with a swagger and confidence completely devoid from other impersonators’ acts. It’s easy to see where his ability comes from. Gass learned how to talk as a young child by mimicking television characters, due to the fact that both of his parents and his sister are completely deaf. Gass began pursuing stand-up full-time 16 years ago, and was flying under the radar until 2002, when he landed a role on Law & Order. Since then, he has appeared on several popular TV shows, opened for rock group Alice in Chains, and has become a favorite of shock jock Howard Stern. Gass is definitely on a roll, collecting masses of fans at every stop, and his performance in SLC will certainly draw a large and rowdy crowd.
