We need your help.

Newspapers and media companies nationwide are closing or suffering mass layoffs since the coronavirus impacted all of us starting in March. City Weekly's entire existence is directly tied to people getting together in groups--in clubs, restaurants, and at concerts and events--which are the industries most affected by new coronavirus regulations.

Our industry is not healthy. Yet, City Weekly has continued publishing thanks to the generosity of readers like you. Utah needs independent journalism more than ever, and we're asking for your continued support of our editorial voice. We are fighting for you and all the people and businesses hardest hit by this pandemic.

You can help by making a one-time or recurring donation on PressBackers.com, which directs you to our Galena Fund 501(c)(3) non-profit, a resource dedicated to help fund local journalism. It is never too late. It is never too little. Thank you. DONATE

Dining | Food Matters: Lugäno, Dumpling Festival, Dine O’Round

The “I didn’t see it coming dept.”, or maybe you could call it good news/bad news: The bad news that Greg Neville has closed his Murray/Cottonwood Pine Restaurant, voted as recently as 2007 as “Best New Restaurant” by Salt Lake magazine. The good news is that divesting in Pine will allow Neville to focus more firmly on his Lugäno restaurant in East Millcreek. Neville says he’s excited about the new Lugäno spring menu. In addition, he’s looking to expand Lugäno into downtown Salt Lake City and Park City. I’ll keep you posted. LuganoRestaurant.com

There is still a little time to get in on The Mandarin Restaurant’s 2008 Dumpling Festival, which runs through Monday, April 14. The Dumpling Festival showcases handmade dumplings and dipping sauces like curry chicken and pine nut, Thai style pork and scallion, salmon, shrimp and spinach, crab, pork shu mai and others. Each order comes with two dumplings, and prices are $3 to $4 per order. Reservations are accepted for parties of eight or more. Parties less than eight can call ahead and have their name placed on a waiting list. 348 E. 900 North, Bountiful, 298-2406. MandarinUtah.com
