Climate-change curious? Come check out a lecture at the Swaner EcoCenter in Park City. If you’d prefer regular food to food for thought, then you can dine out and have the proceeds help a local camp for disabled kids. You won’t want to miss the fall fundraiser for local greenie do-gooders HEAL Utah, and learn about the organization’s renewable-energy roadmap.

Earth’s Changing Climate
Thursday, Dec. 9

Rob Davis, a professor with Utah State University’s Utah Climate Center, will give a primer on climate change and discuss the roadblocks to mitigating the damage. Entrance to the talk is $3 for members of the Swaner EcoCenter and $6 for nonmembers, with proceeds benefiting the center’s mission of protecting open spaces like the center’s 1,200-acre reserve.

Dine at CPK to help Camp K

Camp Kostopulos, since 1967, has provided children with physical disabilities the opportunity to enjoy summertime recreation and leisure. Today, you can help the kids have continued fun in the sun by dining out at the California Pizza Kitchen. The company will donate 20 percent of proceeds to the organization when you bring in a flyer from the organization’s Website to the restaurant.

HEAL Utah Fall Fundraiser & eUtah Project Launch
Tuesday, Dec. 14

At the fourth-annual HEAL (Healthy Environment Aliance) Utah fall fund-raiser, you can drink a toast to the environmental advocacy of the organization while enjoying food, beverages and a silent auction. Witness the unveiling of the organization’s eUtah project: a study that’s been two years in development on how Utah can eliminate carbon- and nuclear-energy reliance, save money for the state and keep the lights on. Tickets are $15 before Dec. 10 and $25 after.
