Juneteenth and Loving Day Celebration

The Minority Law Caucus is throwing a civil-rights celebration twofer this Saturday: Loving Day celebrates the Supreme Court’s banning of state laws that prohibited interracial marriage and Juneteenth is in remembrance of the 13th amendment that repealed slavery. The event is a potluck lunch open to all who feel like celebrating some of our country’s most pivotal landmark moments in civil-rights history.

We Shall Remain: Continuing the Dialogue

The Salt Lake Film center will be offering up a great film, Exile, about the American Indian community moving apart and a subsequent coming together by the exiles of Southwestern reservations. Come enjoy the movie and take part in a discussion after the film about issues affecting Utah’s first peoples.
