Gray Wall Group Show

Wednesdays-Sundays @ @ Gray Wall Gallery

Gray Wall Gallery, the newest fixture on Pierpont Avenue’s gallery row, this month introduces newcomers Nathan Houtz and Grayden Cluff to its roster. Houtz uses fishhooks in metal sculptures that emphasize scale, and Cluff adds abstract paintings to the mix.

The show also includes works from Teri Ockey, David Powell, Tamara Fox, Sarah Cuvelier, Matthew Hall, Guadalupe Rodriguez, Keri Waggoner, Giuliana Serena, Julie Penman and Jaqueline Denning. These run the gamut from photographs by Ockey, Rodriguez and Waggoner, to wearable art with fine jewelry pieces by Denning, Penman’s “green bling” designs using recycled materials and Serena‘s hats and scarves constructed from all-local textile sources. Watch also for Fox’s altered animals, Cuvelier’s ceramic work and Matthew Hall’s altered books.

Open since August, the site is more refreshing than its name might suggest. The walls may be gray, but this eclectic group of artists is anything but monochromatic.
