For his full-length debut as Indian Headset, Ryan Shoeck wisely skipped any production bells and whistles that might have scrubbed down the raw intimacy of his quiet folk and lo-fi country blues. Shoeck’s simple bedroom approach involved a few key elements: 4-track recorder, swift and precise finger-picking skills, plus a little help from buddies Jeremy Chatelain (Cub Country), Andy Cvar and Josh Dusserre. Everything on Indian Headset is in its right place and perfectly frayed. It’s beautiful, warm and inviting. Shoeck joins David Williams as one of Utah’s best-kept secrets. Definitely an artist to watch. Pick up his LP tonight and listen to our favorite tracks, “Red Vines” and “Dream.” Kilby Court, 741 S. 330 West, 7 p.m. All ages (with Cub Country, Bluebird Radio and Shady Chapel).
