Jason Manley: Paved Forest

When: Fri., Sept. 19, 6-9 p.m. 2014

CUAC is pleased to present solo exhibitions by Jason Manley and Tyler Beard. Jason Manley explores relationships between language, objects and the built environment. Integrating text with structural forms to draw relationships between private and public, the body and architecture, and language and materiality, his work contradicts the ephemerality and mutability of words through constructing text out of industrial materials, and exploring how language can create constraints, borders, and political constructs of reality. Additionally, his sculptures respond to the current displacement of the physical by the virtual and reverse the transformation of analog into digital to a monumental extent.
