The authors of the piece “Devastated” [Nov. 21, City Weekly] forgot to mention one of the most obvious killers of new aspen trees inside Pando and aspen groves elsewhere in the West.
Cattle, like deer and elk, eat young aspen shoots. Take a walk through Pando, or any other aspen grove on public lands in the West, and you will see more cowpies than deer or elk pellets.
