Little Fish Swallowed Whole

The first instance of a big fish corporation chomping on a little fish organic/natural food Salt Lake City company that I am aware of is when General Mills bought Celestial Seasonings [“The Bleach & the Bees,” March 26, City Weekly].

It was disheartening then as now to see small, unique natural food companies swallowed up by corporations continuing to market the product as homespun. The writing was on the wall as antitrust/monopoly laws along with financial regulation laws were steadily eroded in the ensuing years.
