In “Let’s Do the Time Warp Again,” [25 1 Anniversary Issue, June 24, City Weekly], Tom Barberi bemoans the disproportionately high representation of Mormons in the Legislature and tees up a candidate for state slogan: “Utah, We’re Not All Crazy.”

Right. We’re not all crazy ... just the disproportionately left, and unrepresentative of Utah, group of loonies interviewed for this piece are crazy.

Still, I’m glad Brigham Young graced the cover of your issue. At least you included one person in your survey who represents Utah ... even though he is presented as a Photoshopped image.

I’ve always been amused by how Salt Lake City names its streets after important national figures like Martin Luther King and Cesar Chavez, but ignores recognition of those, like Brother Brigham, who made a real, direct contribution to the greatness of the Wasatch Front and the American West.

Next time you do a survey, include some Utahns who make things work and not just those who siphon off largess from the producers to flim-flam social justice. Also, include a general authority from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
