Cupcake Cookbook
Leslie Fiet, owner of Mini’s Cupcakes (14 E. 800 South, 801-363-0608; 1751 S. 1100 East, 801-746-2208), can now add “author” to her resume. The cupcake queen has written Mini Cupcakes, with photographs by Zac Williams, published by Gibbs Smith, $16.99. Mini Cupcakes features recipes for gourmet cupcakes utilizing high-quality ingredients such as organic fruits, Madagascar vanilla and dark Belgium chocolate to create cupcakes with names like Mocha Latte, Breakfast at Tiffany’s, Chocoholic, Key Lime Pie and Pretty in Pink. The photography for this cookbook is excellent and will motivate readers to create cupcakes that are mini art pieces as well as mini desserts. For more about Mini’s, visit Mini-Cupcakes.com.

Twice the Cocktails!
The Park City Cocktail Contest, once an annual event, will now be twice the fun, with one event held in the spring and another in the fall.

On Wednesday, April 6, the Spring Park City Cocktail Contest will take place, sponsored by the Park City Area Restaurant Association, at Deer Valley Resort’s Edgar’s Beer and Spirits Lounge, located at the Snow Park Lodge. The contest takes place from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. and will cost $10, which includes snacks but not competition cocktails. Local Park City bartenders will compete, each preparing a specialty warm-weather cocktail, with the winner earning a trophy for display at his or her restaurant or bar plus a $100 cash prize.

The spring event will once again feature Sean Smith, a former U.S. Ski Team member, as master of ceremonies. A portion of the proceeds from the event will benefit the People’s Health Clinic, a privately funded, nonprofit health clinic that provides high-quality pediatric, chronic disease, prenatal and adult general-medical services to uninsured individuals and families in and around Park City. To date, this Park City Cocktail Contest has raised $6,000 for the People’s Health Clinic.
