The Mountain Meadows Massacre took place on Sept. 11, 1857. We must never forget that the Mormons murdered 120 men, women and children at Mountain Meadows. We cannot blame the Mormons who are alive today, but we must never let them forget what their ancestors did that day. There was much bragging about that dastardly deed in the Occidental Saloon on 100 South and Main Street in Salt Lake City, and soon the whole country learned of the crime. That, dear readers, is why the U.S. Army had to come to Utah.
