Philharmonia Orchestra: Concerto Competition Winner

When: Wed., Dec. 10, 7:30 p.m. 2014

The winner of this year’s concerto competition Ivan Fantini takes the stage with Mozart’s dazzling Clarinet Concerto , accompanied by the Utah Philharmonia conducted by Robert Baldwin. Also featured is John Luther Adams’ Dark Waves for electronics and orchestra. Composed in 2008, this textural work evokes “a vast rolling sea.” The concert also includes Brahms’ dramatic and lyrical masterwork, Symphony No. 3.
