Since it opened in 2002, Red Cliffs Lodge has become a favorite weekend getaway of locals and national travel writers. The lodge sits high on the banks of the Colorado River surrounded by 2,000-foot-tall sheer red rock cliffs, overlooking the river's best white-water rapids. The surrounding rugged Western landscape served as a backdrop of many a Hollywood Western, including "Rio Grande" with John Wayne. Inside, the lodge’s 20-foot high ceilings and exposed wood beams, natural wood paneling, tile floors, log furniture and film memorabilia intrigue and beckon guests to stay and explore.
