I am writing to clarify my earlier statements printed in “City-hood” [Sept. 20, City Weekly]. Since that time, I have reviewed the minutes of the respective meetings and the document that I signed. I signed on behalf of the Boy Scouts of America because we were supportive of a feasibility study for Millcreek but wanted to remain neutral if incorporation came to a vote. The committee actually explained to me at the time that I would have to remove my signature later if the BSA did not support putting incorporation on the ballot. This was also explained on the document I signed.

Our volunteer executive committee met after we were informed the deadline to remove our signature was looming. The executive committee decided that since we are a non-taxpaying landholder that the taxpayers should make the decision to put incorporation on the ballot. They voted to have me remove our signature, which I did that same day. I do apologize for any confusion regarding this matter.

The Millcreek Committee is a group of honest and hard-working citizens.
