Are you looking to journey down an enchanted rabbit hole in Ogden this weekend? If you answered yes, you don’t have to endanger your health and sanity by eating mystery mushrooms. Nor do you have to consort with any sketchy, chronically late rabbits. The young, able dancers of Cristobal Marquez’s Salt Lake City Ballet will gladly strap on their pointe shoes and treat you to their spirited interpretation of Lewis Carroll’s psychedelic masterpiece Alice in Wonderland.

Salt Lake City Ballet is a pre-professional company composed of young dancers, but the quality of their performances will leave visions of the next generation of professionals leaping around in your head. At Capacity—the company’s debut performance—showcased a polished corps, some truly impressive contemporary choreography and a diverse repertoire. Chilean-born and -trained Artistic Director Marquez—who runs the Salt Lake Ballet Conservatory—has gained a statewide reputation for training versatile, graceful, lively dancers.

Alice in Wonderland @ Peery’s Egyptian Theater, 2415 Washington Blvd., Ogden, 801-664-4607, April 10-11, 7:30 p.m. & April 11, 2 p.m. SaltLakeCityBallet.org
