Salt Lake Dance Center: The Night Before Christmas

Thursday Dec. 9-Friday Dec. 10 @ Rose Wagner Performing Arts Center

As the annual holiday show for the Salt Lake Dance Center, featuring its resident performing company Ballet Jeunesse, The Night Before Christmas is in direct and contentious competition with one of the giants of the genre, The Nutcracker.

This locally choreographed production combines a host of timeless tales. In two acts, the audience follows the dream adventures of a young girl riding through the snow on a magical sleigh driven by the radiant Christmas Fairy. In turn, she visits the icy tundra of the Snow Queen, Santa’s jubilant North Pole, the amazing Land of the Christmas Fairy herself and even the world of the great Mother Goose. Not to miss out on any childhood fantasy, or to be outdone by the big Tchaikovsky, The Night Before Christmas even includes the Land of the Sweets and the Sugar Plum Fairy.
