Sugar House Arts Festival

Already known for its foot traffic, every year Sugar House closes down Highland Drive between 2100 South and Wilmington Avenue for its annual arts festival, putting its best foot forward. Designed to complement the fireworks and festivities in Sugar House Park over the Independence Day weekend, the event features more than 120 artists and craftsmen, as well as live music, food vendors and a children’s area.

The community and history of Sugar House make this event unique, as evidenced by the town spirit that resurrected the nearly extinguished fireworks show. Local shops, stores and restaurants will be open to coincide with the fest to provide local flavor, like the Sprague Library’s exhibit of Narrative Paintings by Jennifer Singleton. The event kicks off the summer for the neighborhood, with the newly founded Sugar House farmers market commencing the following Friday.
