Ichiban Sushi

The idea is to get the Ichiban Sushi logo—a jumping fish—tattooed on you (either temporary or permanently) and then visit Ichiban for a choice of vegetable tempura appetizer, gyoza or a Utah or Park City roll, free with an equal purchase. Ichiban has jumping fish tattoo taggers stationed downtown at places like the Farmer’s Market in Pioneer Park, The Gallivan Center’s Thursday Twilight Concert Series, and even in certain hair salons. Z’Tejas Southwestern Grill
at the Gateway Mall is seeking amateur dessert chefs with creative dessert recipes. There is a catch, however: The winning recipe must contain some form of chile pepper. “The chile pepper is very versatile in desserts. Last year, we led Chile Fest with Kim Clarken’s Chocolate Cherry Bread Pudding with a Kick,” said Z’Tejas executive chef Todd Gardiner. “We know there are some chile-heads out there with amazing dessert recipes, and we want to feature them.” The person who submits the winning red-hot dessert recipe will find his/her dessert featured on the Z’Tejas menu during Chile Fest in September, as well as a portion of the menu’s proceeds donated to the Lance Armstrong Foundation. In addition, the winner will receive a catered dinner for 10, courtesy of executive chef Todd Gardiner, as well as a $100 gift card.
