Tea & Chocolate
We hear lots about food and wine pairings. But, tea and chocolate? At the Tea Grotto,
owner Rebecca Sheeran and Nick Frappier from A Priori Distrubition have
been busy creating a unique tea and chocolate experience for customers.
Frappier has five years of experience teaching classes about chocolate
at Tony Caputo’s Market, Sundance Resort and Harmons grocery stores.
Now, Sheeran and Frappier have teamed up to create unique pairings such
as Guayas cocoa bean chocolate from Guayas River Basin in Ecuador with
green Japanese Houjicha tea, which “is roasted in a porcelain pot over
charcoal and has a toasty, slightly caramel-like flavor that blends
superbly with the smokiness of the Guayas Ecuadorian chocolate” says
Sheeran. For more info call 801-466-8255 or visit TeaGrotto.com.
SkyBlue Now Open
Located in the ritzy Sky Lodge in Park City, SkyBlue is now open to the public, featuring a new rooftop-lounge concept, small plate dining and a cigar menu. SkyBlue’s new menu features “grown-up treats to sip, savor and smoke,” including a full menu of wines, beers and mixed cocktails, ranging from $5 beers and $9 glasses on the one hand, to Opus One and Cristal on the other. Fresh seafood from the raw bar includes West Coast oysters, king crab legs, Florida stone crab claws and shrimp cocktail. Small plates include tuna tartare, charcuterie and blue cheese fondue with filet. A selection of hand-rolled cigars is also offered for guests to enjoy around the outdoor fire pits.
And, speaking of those fire pits, this is really cool: Patrons can enjoy the outdoor nightlife at SkyBlue in hooded, “monk-style” robes and furry wraps for warmth during the winter months. Commenting on the new outdoor-lounge concept at SkyBlue, Sky Lodge general manager Eric Clark said, “We’ve been watching this trend from our sister hotel in New York City with interest, and realized that we have the perfect venue for it right here in Park City. People love to play here in the outdoors by day … and it’s fun to be outside in the rooftop playing at night, too.” For more information, call 435-658-2500 or visit TheSkyLodge.com.
