The Caretaker

FRIDAY 9.18

All right, Matthew Ivan Bennett, this is getting ridiculous. In case it wasn’t enough that you earned the playwright credits for the entire 2008- 2009 Plan-B Theatre Company season—Radio Hour: Frankenstein, Block 9 and Di Esperienza— now, you’re taking the acting jobs, too.

Salt Lake Acting Company opens its 2009- 2010 season with Harold Pinter’s 1960 intimate three-character psychological mystery The Caretaker. Bennett takes the role of Mick, a successful Londoner whose flat becomes the ground zero for power games when Mick and his brother Aston (Daniel Beecher) offer homeless and unemployed Davies (Joe Cronin) a job as caretaker. What hidden agendas drive these characters in their unpredictable interactions? Come to the production to find out—and if you’re a Matthew Ivan Bennett enthusiast, maybe that will be for the special Thursday, Oct. 8, “fan club” performance.
