Smokin' Thursdays

Sometimes you just want to step into some crispy jeans with cool stuff embroidered on the pocket, throw on your tightest T-shirt and gel your hair into a perfect wave of triumph. If this sounds familiar, then why the hell haven’t you been to the Huka Bar & Grill (139 E. 6100 South)? Every Thursday, this chill Murray spot goes from casual huka lounge to full-blown nightclub status with the help of resident beat provider DJ Awdamaddix, sexy go-go dancers and, of course, some tasty cocktails. But my favorite thing about this joint is the fact they have a camera operator who zooms in on people cutting up the dance floor and puts ’em on blast on one of the many flat screens. He’s an artist. Huka also has a beefy draft-beer selection, but opt for one of the signature mixed drinks like the mango mojo mojito or the pear fizz.
