Paint, Wine & Dine
I’ve heard that painting parties hosted by The Paint Mixer are uniquely social and lots of fun. The idea is that dinner and drinks at a restaurant are combined with the re-creation of a featured painting by the attendees, with step-by-step instruction and materials, including paints, provided. On Friday, June 14, La Caille Restaurant (9565 Wasatch Blvd., Sandy) will host a Paint, Wine & Dine party at 6:30 p.m. with The Paint Mixer, featuring a French-inspired menu and wine pairings from Executive Chef Brandon Howard. Howard’s menu will also highlight early-summer items from the La Caille garden. The Paint, Wine & Dine party is $45 per person for the painting class, and dinner is $50 per person. Optional wine and cocktail selections will also be available. To reserve your spot, canvas and paint, call 801-942-1751. Visit LaCaille.com for more information.
Epic @ Alta
On Friday, June 14, Alta’s Snowpine Lodge (10420 Little Cottonwood Canyon Road) will be the venue for an evening of seasonal foods paired with beers from award-winning Epic Brewing. Ty Eldridge from Epic Brewing will team up with Snowpine Chef Nate Nagy to create a menu that includes a fried and raw oyster “duet” paired with Straight Up Saison; braised pork belly with Slide Ridge honey mustard vinaigrette and Copper Cone Pale Ale; monkfish nuggets with cheddar grits, chorizo, andouille and sweet pepper-tomato reduction paired with Imperial Red; and braised-and-glazed spring lamb with Santa Cruz Brown Ale. The cost for the five-course dinner is $60, plus $25 for the optional beer pairings. Snowpine Lodge is also offering an overnight package for two that includes dinner, beer pairings and lodging for $250. For reservations, phone 801-742-2000.
