The Ticket Picket

I received two parking tickets in Salt Lake City last year due to deceptive street signs. I have not, nor will I ever, shop in Salt Lake City again. This includes attending college athletics and Salt Lake nonprofit organizations like the opera, symphony and the theater. I’ll miss those events, but what the merchants and the city council do is dishonest and unethical.

Unless the business community can persuade the city council to permanently take down all parking meters and stop issuing parking tickets for parking safely in Salt Lake City, I have plenty of options to shop elsewhere.

I noticed the city council even shortened the holiday moritorium for metered locations to fool even more shoppers into getting parking tickets the week after after Christmas. Tricky—but I’m not fooled.
