Western gay bar is no one-trick pony

If you find yourself in downtown Salt Lake City and wondering if you’re at a gay western club, just look for the novelty-size pair of disco-ball cowboy boots. More than likely, you’re at the oldest LGBT saloon this side of the Wasatch, The Trapp (102 S. 600 West). Though country-themed, this spot is no one-trick pony. Fridays and Saturdays are dedicated to ’70s and ’80s dance tunes, hosted by video mixer DJ D, and every Monday is karaoke night on the massive back patio. Coming up Sept. 17, manager Frankie Chugg will be throwing an ol’-fashioned hootenanny in honor of The Trapp turning 21! While you’re there, take advantage of the $2.50 domestics and $4.25 mind erasers.
