Martin Luther King Jr. day (Jan. 21) calls to mind the great civil-rights struggles our nation faced in the not-too-distant past. City Weekly asked Joe Evans, owner of Nobrow Coffee: What is the great civil-rights struggle of today?

Well, while there is a lot going with the gay-rights movement, I think our biggest struggle is our country’s treatment of other cultures, and Muslims in general. Part of that is … defining torture and taking a strong stand against it. Our struggle will be about how we treat humanity and other cultures.
