University of Utah scientists have recently been able to change the sexual orientation of nematode worms. The researchers have concluded that sexual orientation is hardwired in the worm’s brain. City Weekly asked Shawn Kirk of Landis Aveda Lifestyle Salon if he thought this research might have any implications for human sexuality?

Well, it is a worm, but I think it’s definitely an indication that so much of our being is hardwired into our DNA. Maybe we should stop trying to change people or expecting them to change and just accept them for who they are and celebrate that and not try and dictate what they should be.
