Things can get pretty confusing downtown for taco and beer lovers whose passions are torn between two businesses named Junior’s located within a block of each other. We asked Junior’s Tavern (now on 300 South) bartender Derek Johnson whether the two joints can coexist peacefully.

This is the real Junior’s. We’ve been open since 1974'moved to this location six months ago. If one of our customers wants a taco, we’ll call up Junior’s and order it for them. We don’t have a kitchen, but we’ll order food for folks all the time: items from Judge Café, Chinese food, pizza, you name it. We’re a really friendly place. Nice customers, great owners'no bulls't. If I could move elsewhere, I’d still keep one Junior’s in Salt Lake City.
