Through Nov. 15

In Time and the Conways, running this weekend at the University of Utah’s Babcock Theatre, J.B. Priestly explores the true nature of time and the tragedies that befall mere mortals through their limited perception of it.

Kay (Gabrielle Gaston) is celebrating her 21st birthday bathed in the optimism of England after the Great War. She and her family spend the evening reflecting on the grand possibilities of their futures now that the horrors of war are behind them. It is a time of much celebration, until Kay finds herself struck by a vision of the future. The second act finds her 19 years later, in the same room, surrounded by the consequences of events set in motion the evening she has just left behind.

Bringing to bear over 40 years of experience, guest artist Roger Forbes directs a talented cast drawn from students at the U of U’s Actor Training Program.

Time and the Conways @ Babcock Theater, 300 S. 1400 East, 801-581-7100, through Nov. 15.
