Try, Try Again

What’s something you’re not the best at, but have stuck with anyway?

Colin Wolf: Every driver in Utah should have something to admit here.

Scott Renshaw: Being a homeowner requires pretending that you know how to keep plants alive and looking that they wouldn’t rather be dead. I’ve achieved moderate success at the former; as to the latter, I suspect if it were possible for plants to be taken away by protective social services, that would’ve happened long ago.

Jeff Reese: I love dancing. I am sure that I look like a monkey having a seizure when I do it, but I don’t care, because it’s so much fun. Don’t worry about what other people think; let yourself go!

Lindsay Fenton: If I’m not good at it, I don’t do it. However, I’m really good at pretty much everything I do.

Paula Saltas: Competitive eating—that 200th hot dog is always the hardest.

Kolbie Stonehocker: Cooking. I’ve messed up a lot of things (including having chicken vindaloo turn inexplicably bright green, yikes), but most of the time I can manage to make good food. I’ve reached a point where I can make most kinds of soup from scratch without a recipe, which I’m pretty proud of. Not having to always rely on takeout and packaged food is awesome.

Alissa Dimick: I am not great at bowling, but we’re in a league with our rad friends. We aren’t the best team out there, but we get together once a week for beers and to catch up and bowl. Go
4 Man Wolf Pack!

Ivy Smith: I’ve been known to casually play Dungeons & Dragons, but I’m hesitant to mention it to enthusiasts because they always ask what “level” I’m at. So I play it with a group of people who only have one rule—the game has to start in a tavern. It’s more fun that way anyway.

Laurie Reiner: I sprained my ankle skateboarding when I was in junior high, yet I bought a longboard a couple weeks ago because my roommate wanted me to. I face my fear of dying while skateboarding because I am the world’s greatest roommate.
