Tuscany + Epic
If there’s a more gorgeous spot for patio dining in this town than at Tuscany restaurant (2832 E. 6200 South, Holladay), I haven’t found it. Well, on Monday, July 15, at 7 p.m., the Tuscany patio will be the location for an evening of craft brews from Epic Brewing Co., paired with delectable dishes designed for each beer by chefs Adam Vickers, Franck Peissel and Robert Perkins. Also in attendance, to talk about the brews, will be Epic brewmaster Kevin Crompton. The dinner will be four courses paired with four Epic beers at a cost per person of $55. For reservations, call 801-274-6264. Visit TuscanySLC.com for more information.
Frida’s Flavors
On Wednesday, July 17, Frida Bistro (545 W. 700 South, Salt Lake City) will host a Flavors of Mexico five-course gourmet dinner paired with Mexican wines from Villa Montefiori and premium Vida tequilas. Among the offerings are camarones aguachile with Vida Blanco tequila, chile en nogada with Villa Montefiori Cabernet Sauvignon-Sangiovese, ensalada de pepita with Villa Montefiori Chardonnay, and more. The cost is $60 per person, all-inclusive. For reservations, phone 801-983-6692. Visit FridaBistro.com for more information.
Suds @ Stein’s
If you’ve read this week’s main Dining column, you might get the notion that Stein Eriksen Lodge in Deer Valley is posh and pricey, which it is. However, the folks at Stein’s let their hair down every Tuesday evening in July with a craft beer and food-tasting series called Hops on the Hill, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Guests get a souvenir glass to sample locally crafted beers from brewers like Wasatch, Uinta, Epic, Red Rock and Squatters on the sunny Flagstaff Deck, accompanied by food pairings created by Executive Chef Zane Holmquist. Hops on the Hill also includes a free concert on the Bald Mountain lawn, from 7 to 9 p.m. Guests must be 21 or over to attend the tasting, and the cost is $30 for full tasting tickets ($15 for food, $15 for beer). Reservations can be made by calling 435-645-6455. Nonalcoholic tickets for food are available at the door. The concerts are free to the public. Visit SteinLodge.com for more information.
