Utah Renaissance Festival & Fantasy Faire

May 6-22 @ Marriott-Slaterville

Devotees of creative anachronism—those who dress in period costume to celebrate the era of knights, damsels and faeries—get a bad rap. Sure, their passion may not be everyone’s cup of mead, but their commitment often allows others the chance to experience a bygone era with impressive authenticity.

For three weekends, the Utah Renaissance Festival and Fantasy Faire turns the rustic village atmosphere of Marriott-Slaterville (just west of Ogden) into a fully immersive world of food, merchandise and entertainment. Thrill to the Knights of Mayhem as they show off real heavy jousting; enjoy wandering musicians and magicians; witness acrobatic swordplay; let the kids have fun with the Pack and Pounce petting zoo. More than 80 merchants, both local and visiting, offer crafts and wearable art, plus plenty of period food and drink. Join fully in the fun and come in costume, and you’ll get $2 off your admission price. Merry meet, and merry part.

Utah Renaissance Festival & Fantasy Faire @ 1350 S. 1700 West, I-15 exit 344, Marriott-Slaterville, May 6-22, Friday, Saturday & Sunday; also open Thursday, May 12; 10 a.m.–6 p.m., children $6, adults $12. UtahRenFest.com
