Water Week

May 1-2

Without water, the Earth could not breathe. In the season of sprinklers and swamp coolers, now is the perfect time to pay homage to our essential resource.

Brolly Arts and Salt Lake Public Utilities unite to celebrate and commemorate H2O with Water Week. In hopes of inspiring water awareness, water and art are converging with natural fluidity through song, script, dance and drama.

Beginning May 1, Brolly Arts opens the Water Week festivities with Steeped, an evening of multidisciplinary arts and a splash of water. Several artists exhibit, perform and articulate works on the meaning of water in their lives, including a multimedia voyage through Utah’s finest water sights by Sallie Shatz. On Sunday, the event flows over to Brewvies Cinema Pub for water-themed films, live performances, a silent auction and a raffle.

Water week continues to gush until May 9 during several valley consciousness-raising events. All water, all week. Check Websites for more details.

Water Week: Steeped @ Leisure Living Warehouse, 2182 S. Highland Dr., May 1-2, 8 p.m. BrollyArts.org; more events at WaterWeek.org
