Think LoDo in Denver, or Gaslamp in San Diego—what’s your favorite city district for visiting?

James Burnitt: Definitely the Museums Quartier in Vienna, Austria. Drinks, food, people watching, music at night— and museums (of course)!

Brandon Burt: Unfortunately, all the good districts have been gentrified or redeveloped beyond recognition … SoMa in San Francisco, Capitol Hill in Seattle, Boystown in Chicago—oh, where have all the leather bars gone? On the other hand, Taksim in Istanbul has a rather beguiling hammam …

Scott Renshaw: Too many San Francisco neighborhoods to mention: Haight-Ashbury, Chinatown, the Panhandle, SoMa. The only thing not to love about that city is the cost of living there.

Susan Kruithof: Crescent Street area in Montreal. More for us English-speaking folks. Great pubs, and in the summer, tons of open-air restaurants in the summer. Amazing. Like being in Europe, I imagine, without traveling overseas.

Derek Jones: I have to say Boystown in Chicago. My boyfriend surprised me with a secret trip to Chicago and then proposed to me at a great restaurant there called The Home Bistro.

Ben Rosch: I have always enjoyed the Riverwalk in San Antonio Texas.

Jamie Gadette: Sixth Street and its surrounding blocks in Austin. Live-music-lover’s paradise.

Matt Engle: Main Street, of course! Especially between 200 South and 300 south. It’s where all my friends hang out.
