Wicked Dinner
Through Aug. 24, during the run of the musical Wicked at Capitol Theatre, The New Yorker restaurant (60 W. Market St., NewYorkerSLC.com) is offering a special three-course prix-fixe pre-theater dinner special for $36. The Wicked dinner is served from 5:30 to 7 p.m. nightly, and includes a choice of chilled gazpacho with avocado creme fraiche or Caesar salad starter; pan-seared bistro steak or filet of Rocky Mountain trout entree; and peach-huckleberry crisp with huckleberry ice cream for dessert. Included in the cost is complimentary round-trip shuttle service to Capitol Theatre. Call 801-363-0166 for reservations.

High Alta-tude Summer Eats
One of my favorite summertime destinations is hiking and camping at the Albion Basin campground above Alta. But I usually get tired of campfire wieners and brats after a day or two. Well, this summer it's Albion Grill to the rescue. For the first time, Alta's Albion Grill (10520 E. Day Lodge Road, Alta, 801-832-1710, Alta.com) will be open daily through early September for food and beverages, including made-to-order deli sandwiches, wraps, bagels, salads, grilled sandwiches, rice bowls, assorted beverages (including cold brews) and hiker's lunches available for pre-order. Indoor and outdoor seating is available, and the stunning views of Albion Basin and Devil's Castle are free.

Blues, Brews & 'Que
Every Sunday through Sept. 28, Snowbasin Resort (3925 Snowbasin Road, Huntsville, 801-620-1000, Snowbasin.com) is hosting Blues, Brews & BBQ on the patio and lawn at Earl's Lodge with live music and award-winning barbecue. The shows are free and open to the public, and brews and other beverages, smoked brisket, roasted turkey, fish of the day and more are available for purchase. Upcoming musical artists include the amazing James McMurtry on July 20, Bullets & Belles on July 27 and The Brothers Comatose on Aug. 3.
