A glowing celebration of Reid | Buzz Blog
We need your help.

Newspapers and media companies nationwide are closing or suffering mass layoffs since the coronavirus impacted all of us starting in March. City Weekly's entire existence is directly tied to people getting together in groups--in clubs, restaurants, and at concerts and events--which are the industries most affected by new coronavirus regulations.

Our industry is not healthy. Yet, City Weekly has continued publishing thanks to the generosity of readers like you. Utah needs independent journalism more than ever, and we're asking for your continued support of our editorial voice. We are fighting for you and all the people and businesses hardest hit by this pandemic.

You can help by making a one-time or recurring donation on PressBackers.com, which directs you to our Galena Fund 501(c)(3) non-profit, a resource dedicated to help fund local journalism. It is never too late. It is never too little. Thank you. DONATE

A glowing celebration of Reid

EnergySolutions spreads their wealth to all powerful officials.---

In Utah, it is fair to say the primary beneficiaries of the EnergySolutions cash cow are Republicans. But that is only because Republicans run this state, and EnergySolutions certainly does not shy away from donating to Democrats. You know, if they can actually find them.

On Tuesday, however, the nuclear waste love will be spread to the Donkeys, and it will not be small change. CEO Steve Creamer is hosting a reception "honoring" Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid at his home in Salt Lake City. The event, which is private, will cost $1,000 per person.

According to the Salt Lake Tribune, the fundraiser is being organized privately by Creamer, and is not an official EnergySolutions event.  For his part, Reid is not planning any public appearances, which I'm sure disappoints Utah Republicans more than Utah Democrats, considering the general mood towards D.C. Democrats right now.
