After
skipping a week with nothing out on the public, we make our way into
the thick of April with three big releases this Saturday. --- First
up we go down to Utah Country at Muse Music where The Lovecapades
will be releasing their debut album. Becoming a staple of the venue,
the Provo group fought hard in Muse's last Battle Of The Bands,
charming the audience with their acoustic set and charming soft-indie
style. Now looking to attract beyond the Utah County fanbase, Tragic
Moustache features their music and DIY at its finest. Those of you
missing the long departed Johan The Angel will enjoy the vibe and
tone of the album. Playing along side them will be The
Conversationalists, Alex Denney and Amy Pierce. Show kicks off at 8PM
for just $5.
Meanwhile, across the street at
Velour sees the
newest release from
Parlor Hawk. Regrouping and tweaking their sound,
not to mention departing from their former name of
Moses, the five
piece gang took their blusey alt-country sound to a different level
and polished up their works for this release.
Hoarse & Roaring
has some really excellent work from what I've had a chance to hear,
and another album where I'm amazed tracks aren't getting airplay.
Accompanying them on Saturday will be
Vinyl Club and Book On
Tapeworm. Show starts at 8PM for $7.
Then coming back up
north, as we
mentioned in this week's issue,
INVDRS release
their debut album
Electric Church.
I got a chance to listen to the full thing in preparation for the
piece, and full honesty, if you've been starving for something loud
and dark, this is the one to buy. Helping celebrate the release at Burt's Tiki Lounge will
be Prize Country and Estrago. Just $8 at 9PM.
Get out, love music, buy local!
