Kids In the Hall: Death Comes to Town Tonight

Canadian sketch-comedy troupe Kids In the Hall haven't been seen on American television since the '90s--and even then, it could be argued that no one "seen" them, anyway. So, does tonight mark their comeback or debut?---

Either way, Death Comes to Town (IFC, 8 p.m.) is classic silliness from KITH, and a break from the sketch format: It's an eight-part series about the Grim Reaper (who seems to favor a sweet leather speedo) arriving via Greyhound bus to the small Canuck town of Shuckton, Ontario--and then one of the town's citizens is murdered, and everyone in the local population (played by all of the Kids, of course) is suspect. "It's a gothic comic mini-series," says Bruce McCulloch, KITH member and Death Come to Town executive producer. "Like Corner Gas meets Twin Peaks. It's silly and it's dark, and it's about outsiders and people in over their heads."

If that sounds like a far-too-straight summary, observe this hysterical trailer:
