We need your help.

Newspapers and media companies nationwide are closing or suffering mass layoffs since the coronavirus impacted all of us starting in March. City Weekly's entire existence is directly tied to people getting together in groups--in clubs, restaurants, and at concerts and events--which are the industries most affected by new coronavirus regulations.

Our industry is not healthy. Yet, City Weekly has continued publishing thanks to the generosity of readers like you. Utah needs independent journalism more than ever, and we're asking for your continued support of our editorial voice. We are fighting for you and all the people and businesses hardest hit by this pandemic.

Saturday, Oct. 9: Salt Lake's Wasatch Roller Derby played their final bout of the 2010 season, against Colorado's Pikes Peak Derby Dames at The Warehouse.---

WRD's Action Girl recaps the, well, action:

"It was brutal! Skull Candi (#5134) made her debut with Wasatch Roller Derby, and was subsequently ejected from the game after seven majors! At halftime, the score was WRD 53 , Pikes Peak 37 (for the majority of the first half, it was WRD 53, PPDD 4).

"Then, PPDD had the help of their Jammer, Pepper Slay (#18), who helped them make a great comeback for a final score of Pikes Peak Derby Dames 151, Wasatch Roller Derby 68."
