We need your help.

Newspapers and media companies nationwide are closing or suffering mass layoffs since the coronavirus impacted all of us starting in March. City Weekly's entire existence is directly tied to people getting together in groups--in clubs, restaurants, and at concerts and events--which are the industries most affected by new coronavirus regulations.

Our industry is not healthy. Yet, City Weekly has continued publishing thanks to the generosity of readers like you. Utah needs independent journalism more than ever, and we're asking for your continued support of our editorial voice. We are fighting for you and all the people and businesses hardest hit by this pandemic.

You can help by making a one-time or recurring donation on PressBackers.com, which directs you to our Galena Fund 501(c)(3) non-profit, a resource dedicated to help fund local journalism. It is never too late. It is never too little. Thank you. DONATE

Susie Selby, proprietor of Selby Winery in Healdsburg, CA, is one of my favorite winemakers. Her wines are flawless, and she's a terrific, talented, interesting person. She does everything at her winery from make the wines to drive forklifts. --- Next Tuesday, December 14 at 7:00 PM, Susie will be on hand at Meditrina for a five-course wine dinner featuring four of Selby's wines. Here is the tentative menu and wine pairings:

1st course: Seared Sea Scallops, parsley fennel coulis, red pepper gremolata. (’09 Sauvignon Blanc)

2nd course: Butternut Squash Bisque, lemon-roasted pepitas, chive oil (’08 Chardonnay)

3rd course:  Duck Fat Seared Beef Tenderloin, celerac puree, winter kale, port wine juniper pan sauce (’06 Azevedo Cabernet)

4th course: Point Reyes Bleu Cheese with candied almonds (’08 “Bobcat” Zinfandel)

5th course: Spiced Chocolate Pot de Cr%uFFFDme (’08 “Bobcat” Zinfandel)

The cost is $40 for food and $30 for the wine pairings (plus tax and a 20% gratuity). Reservations, which are essential, can be made by calling 801-485-2055.
