How appropriate would it be to have Dashboard Confessional and Retribution Gospel Choir on the same bill? Could save a lot of people in one fell swoop.---

As it is, music fans can still see both shows Tuesday night; they'll just have to bounce between venues. Dashboard Confessional's Chris Carrabba is touring as a celebration of the 10th anniversary of his Swiss Army Romance album, and he'll be at In The Venue along with Saves the Day and others. Retribution Gospel Choir is the newish project of Low's Alan Sparhawk, long-time Utah fave and former Utah resident. A fine rock trio, the Choir show also features Peter Wolf Crier, and should be a dandy at The Urban Lounge.

Tuesday at the Main Library, there will be a free screening of Marwencol, a documentary about Mark Hogancamp, who, as therapy for a vicious attack, built a 1/6th scale WWII-era town in his backyard populated with dolls that enact epic stories of violence, longing and revenge. The show is at 7 p.m.

And over at Westminster College's Vieve Gore Concert Hall, photographer Paul Nicklen will discuss his work in a lecture called Polar Obsession: Confronting a Melting Planet. Should be plenty of fodder for the fighters of climate change. It's free and starts at 7 p.m.
