As I predicted, ABC’s Tuesday-night lineup dropped even further in the ratings last night. But, then again, Fox’s Glee/Raising Hope/Traffic Light block didn’t fare well, either. Conclusion: Don’t mess with NCIS. ---

What’s new tonight:
Mr. Sunshine (ABC) Series Debut: The fine cast of Matthew Perry (Friends), Andrea Anders (Better Off Ted), Allison Janney (The West Wing) and Jorge Garcia (Lost) aren’t completely wasted in this no-laugh-track comedy about an uptight corporate sports-stadium manager (Perry) who’s unlucky at love, juggles wacky work situations and … wait a minute. ABC canceled Better Off Ted to make way for Better Off Chandler Bing? Still, Mr. Sunshine is a worthy entry to the net’s established Wednesday comedy block—it’s almost as funny as Off the Map.

Human Target (Fox) Season/Probably Series Finale: Season 2 of TV's best action series comes to an end just as it was starting to get an American Idol boost—brilliant, Fox. Tonight, Chance (Mark Valley) finally digs up the dirt on his boss’ late husband, and it ain’t good news for him, her nor the entire team. I’ll miss you most of all, Jackie Earle Haley …

Live to Dance (CBS) Season/Hopefully Series Finale: Paula Abdul’s terrible talent show comes to an end just as it was starting to get crushed by American Idol—kudos, CBS. Rumor has it that Abdul might end up as a judge on Simon Cowell’s new X Factor, a news item I’ll be filing away in my special Could Not Give Less of a Fuck folder.

Justified (FX) Season Premiere: Timothy Olyphant and that fine-ass Stetson are back for Season 2. Read all about it in True TV (Item 1).

Also new tonight:
The Middle, Better With You, Modern Family, Off the Map (ABC); Criminal Minds, Blue Bloods (CBS); Minute to Win It, Law & Order: SVU (NBC); American Idol (Fox); Hot in Cleveland, Retired at 35 (TV Land); Ghost Hunters Int’l, Face Off (Syfy); Man vs. Food (Travel); Conan (TBS)

Preview: Human Target goes out with (several) bangs …
