Got some winter blues, despite the hints of spring? Might we suggest dancing those blues away?---

Ample opportunities to do just that Thursday night. Let's start with ska kingpins The Toasters (pictured), headlining a gig tonight at Burt's Tiki Lounge. This is the New York City crew's 30th anniversary tour, and they are proponent of that old school, 2-tone ska sound that made the genre far more listenable than all the "ska-punk" bands that followed. 

Down in Provo, The Lower 48 headlines a show at Velour. I wouldn't necessarily call the group "dance music," but let's fact it, most indie-rockin' hipsters barely sway to the beat when they ARE listening to full-on boogie tunes. They can at least do the same for this cool indie trio.

Mykal Rose with Afro Omega at Park City's Star Bar should be a pretty hot show, allowing for that slow, reggae-fied, head-bobbing brand of dancing, and Led Zeppelin 2 will be providing the soundtrack for some classic-rock swaying with a side dish of head-banging at The Urban Lounge. 

You can always watch a little dance, too, as a means of generating heat. Tonight at the Sugar Space, three emerging choreographers will be displaying their latest creations with Suite: Women Defining Space. Joan Mann, Emily Haygeman and Elise Woodruff are the featured artists, and the show also goes on Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m.
